In 2012, I traveled across Siberia from Ekaterinburg to Vladivostok by train and took notes of what I saw and felt. I decided to turn these notes into an expanded memoir of my time in Russia. This is an excerpt from the beginning.

I love cooking and baking, and I had the idea of writing a cookbook in order to share my favorite recipes. Then, that became a medium for reflecting on my time in Russia and sharing stories.

Between - Short Story

The Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 shocked and angered me. I was living in St. Petersburg, Russia at the time and had to make very difficult decisions that have affected myself and my family. As a way to process the emotions I felt at the time and to reflect on how and why I made the decisions I did, I decided to write a short story. This is the first page of the story.

This is a sample concept for a made-up video game to demonstrate my familiarity with game design and mechanics as well as my narrative writing and design abilities. The idea is loosely based on a concept I had for an Age of Empires II mod I was creating using the level-building tool.

In 2019, while teaching an academic writing class at a university, a student approached me with the idea of turning the course into a game to make it more engaging for students. Together, we developed the idea of “Academia”. I was responsible for the narrative and concept.
